FAQ: Lash Extensions
EYELASH EXTENSIONS EXTEND THE LENGTH AND THICKNESS OF YOUR NATURAL EYELASHES. LASH EXTENSIONS ARE SINGLE STRANDS OF SYNTHETIC EYELASHES. THEY ARE APPLIED TO EACH INDIVIDUAL NATURAL EYELASH ONE BY ONE FOR A NATURAL, BEAUTIFUL AND LUSCIOUS LOOK. Lash extensions come in a variety of lengths, thickness, finishes and curl types. The style of lashes will vary per client.
WHEN APPLIED PROPERLY YOUR NEW LASHES WILL LAST BETWEEN 2 TO 4 WEEKS DEPENDING ON YOUR SKINCARE ROUTINE AND YOUR OWN NATURAL LASH LIFE CYCLE. TO MAINTAIN THE FULL LOOK OF YOUR LASHES, IT WILL REQUIRE YOU TO MAINTAIN REFILLS EVERY 2-3 WEEKS.
EYELASH EXTENSIONS MAY NOT BE SUITABLE FOR PEOPLE WHO:
- HAVE PRE-EXISTING EYELID OR EYE CONDITIONS SUCH AS BLEPHARITIS AND OCULAR ROSACEA.
- HAVE A CONDITION CALLED TRICHOTILLOMANIA, WHICH IS COMPULSIVE PULLING OR TWISTING OF HAIR OR EYELASHES.
- CANNOT CONTROL RUBBING THEIR EYES.
- Have very little to none natural eyelashes.
- Have very sensitive eyes or possible allergies.
- Have difficulty following aftercare instructions or do not care to follow them.
- Undergoing chemo treatments or have had chemo treatments within the past year (recommend to consult with your physician)
We do not recommend it but if you must, yes you can HOWEVER it can ONLY BE WATER BASED MASCARA. DO NOT USE OIL-BASED OR WATER-PROOF MASCARA. WATERPROOF MASCARA OR ANY TYPE OF OIL BASED MASCARA CAN DISSOLVE THE BONDING AGENT AND SHORTEN THE LIFE OF YOUR EYELASH EXTENSIONS CAUSING THEM TO FALL SOONER. Make sure to remove and cleanse them nightly. ONLY USE A WATER BASED EYE MAKEUP REMOVER. IF APPLYING MASCARA, DO SO FROM MIDDLE TO TIP AVOIDING THE ROOT AREA.
WE DO NOT RECOMMEND USING MECHANICAL EYELASH CURLERS ON YOUR EYELASH EXTENSIONS AS THESE CURLERS WILL DAMAGE THE EXTENSIONS AND POSSIBLY YOUR OWN NATURAL LASHES.
YES. THE BONDING AGENT WE USE IS WATERPROOF AND ALLOWS YOU TO SHOWER, SWIM, EXERCISE ETC. SPECIAL CARE IS REQUIRED BUT OVERALL MAINTENANCE IS LOW. WE DO RECOMMEND HOWEVER THAT YOU DO NOT PARTICIPATE IN THESE ACTIVITIES AT LEAST A FEW HOURS AFTER THE EYELASH APPLICATION TO PROLONG THE LIFE OF YOUR EXTENSIONS.
Lashes have a natural growth cycle of 4-5 weeks. There are different stages of growth. Normally we loose 3-5 lashes per day. Your extensions should be shedding with your natural lashes. This is absolutely normal. New lashes will be growing out after.
Please refer to the SERVICES page for details.
Yes! When we apply your eyelash extensions they always sit 1-2 mm away from the skin so the adhesive itself does not touch your skin at all. We have so many clients that get their lashes done throughout their entire pregnancy. If you are still concerned, feel free to follow up with your physician just to be sure.
Lash extensions do not damage your natural lashes or cause them to fall out if they are done properly. All of our lash artists have undergone intense training to provide the highest quality application. Keeping your lash line healthy is our top priority. Your lash artist will always advise what is best for you and your lashes. Do keep in mind however that your natural lashes do have a natural growth cycle. You can lose anywhere from 2-5 lashes per day from each eye. Meaning it’s totally normal to still have some shedding, but it is not caused by the extensions themselves.
It is highly recommended that you get them removed by a trained professional. NEVER try to remove them yourself as this can cause damage or have your natural lashes falling out prematurely which can cause permanent damage.
Unfortunately we do not in order to ensure the best service and quality of products used during the service at Beauty Haven. We will, however, be happy to remove your current set of lash extensions for you and provide you with new full set.
FAQ: Lash Lift & Tint
A lash lift is a semi-permanent lift and curl of your natural lashes, much like a perm. By bending your natural lashes over a curved silicone shield and applying a perming solution, a lash artist can set the shape of your natural lashes into an upward and realistic curl. Taking into account your natural lash length and your desired look (i.e. straight up lashes or more fanned out), the lash artist will choose from a variety of silicone shield sizes to customize your lash lift. The end result will leave you with beautifully curled and defined lashes.
A lash lift and tint can last anywhere between 6 to 8 weeks. Results may vary from client to client depending their lash growth cycle.
In order to keep your lashes looking their best, we recommend that you condition your lashes by applying a moisturizer such as coconut oil or a facial oil nightly.No. There will be no need for an eyelash curler as this treatment gives a much better result than using a curler, But more importantly, using one may weaken and damage your lashes.

FAQ: Brows
Brow henna is a product based on Indian henna. Colour pigments have been added to give the henna a beautiful light to dark brown color.
Brow Henna is long lasting brow dye that remains on the skin underneath the brows for up to 2 weeks and stays on the hair for 4-6 weeks. We recommend scheduling your appointment every 2 weeks.
Extending the longevity of brow henna is to not get the brow area wet for 24 hours after application. Also, exercising caution when applying any type of skin care products containing exfoliators (topical acne medications, retinol, lightening products, alpha hydroxy acids, benzol peroxide, salicylic acid, glycolic acid etc.) Keep all of these away from your brows as they will strip them of their colour and could harm the hair as well.
The Brow Henna powder is made 100% naturally from the Henna Plant. It is simply mixed with water to create a thin paste which is super easy to apply and is very gentle, even on the most sensitive skin.
Absolutely. Even if your client has had tints before, if this particular tint is new to them you should do a patch test. Although Brow Henna powder is 100% natural, there will always be someone who will be allergic to it – a small patch in the inner arm just below the elbow, or just behind the ear are good places to do this, and it should be done at least 24 hours prior to when they actually want their treatment.
The Henna will fade gradually on most people, however those who have dryer skin may see some flaking. We recommend that before you apply the Henna tint, you use a facial scrub to cleanse and smooth the area to really reduce the risk of flaking!
Brow tint uses a similar dye that Hair Stylists use. The tint is mixed with peroxide and then applied to the brows for 1-5 minutes and lasts on the hair for 2-4 weeks. Brow Henna is a specially formulated Henna mixture made specifically for eyebrows. The powder is mixed with distilled water and then applied to the brows for 10-20 minutes and lasts on the hair for 4-6 weeks. If you have very light eyebrows, or do not normally wear a lot of brow makeup, we recommend starting with brow tinting. If you are used to a more filled-in and defined brow, are looking for a longer lasting solution, have stubborn grey brow hairs, or are looking to camouflage gaps or sparse brow hair, we recommend booking a Brow Henna service.
Brow Lamination is a process which the brow hairs are restructured and styled according to the desired outcome. It can be used to create volumized brows, groomed brows, or simply used for correcting brows by manipulating the hair to cover sparse areas.
Results can last up to 6-8 weeks with proper aftercare.

The machine hairstroke technique makes fine, crisp strokes to create realistic looking hairstrokes that blends in with your natural brows using a tattoo machine.
